MP gifts Goaso Government Hospital with a VIP Ward

Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports and Member of Parliament for Asunafo Constituency, Evans Opoku Bobie, has commissioned a 10 room VIP ward for the Goaso Government Municipal Hospital in the Ahafo Region as part of measures to improve health care delivery in the region.

In an address, Mr. Evans Opoku Bobie disclosed the government was committed to expand and improve health care delivery in the municipality. "So far under the leadership of the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has built more chip compounds and polyclinics fitted with pipe borne water in about 80% in rural communities in the region.

He added that the government set up the beautiful ultra-modern VIP WARD to relieve the people in the municipality.The facility is made of ten (10) rooms with air condition, bed, bathroom, television, and toilet facilities. He therefore appealed to management of the hospital to apply good maintenance culture to ensure it benefits the Ghanaians.

"Take good care of it and charge some amount of money to maintain and sustain the structure for generations". He opined. He stated that the government was making efforts to tackle all the various sectors which include access roads, education, agriculture and major markets in the municipality to improve living conditions of citizens.



He therefore disclosed that the government will cut sod for the ultra-modern market for the Goaso Wednesday market with the purpose of enhancing the dairy market business. "The ultimate aim is to bring about growth in the local economy and enhance the livelihood of citizens of the municipality". He emphasized.

Municipal Chief Executive (MCE),Mr Osei Yaw Boahen, commended the MP project noting it would definitely enhance and improve healthcare delivery and reduce overcrowding at the hospital.

He disclosed that apart from VIP WARD, government, New Patriotic Party (NPP) has built an ultra-modern infectious disease center with the COVID 19 fund, Maternity Ward at Goaso and extension of Ayomso hospital, Fawohoyeden hospital, Mensahkrom chip compound, Asukesse chip compound, Dotom chip compound, Polyclinic at Ampenkro all in the region.

For his part, the Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Boakye Boateng outlined the numerous health facilities that the government has provided since the creation of the region and requested for more logistics and personnel to effectively combat diseases in the region.

He therefore appealed to the government and the MP to upgrade the Goaso Hospital to a Regional Hospital. He assured the facility will be well maintained for the benefit of all.
