The donation ends years of persistent power struggles at the hospital, following the breakdown of its old 100 kVA generator which had been out of service for decades. The unreliable power supply had severely affected healthcare delivery, including disruptions to surgical procedures during outages.

Speaking at the presentation, Hon. Raymond Nana Ebbah reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to strengthening healthcare and ensuring quality medical services for residents. He noted that the new generator would provide stable power to support critical medical equipment, especially during emergencies and operations.

Hospital management and staff expressed profound gratitude, stating that reliable electricity will greatly enhance operational efficiency and patient care.

In addition, the Assembly has secured and commissioned brand-new ambulances to boost emergency response and referral systems across the municipality. The ambulances are expected to improve response times and patient transport for urgent care.

Residents and stakeholders have praised the Assembly for prioritizing healthcare development, noting that these interventions will significantly uplift the well-being of people in Wassa Amenfi East.
