The facility was officially inaugurated on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, by the District Chief Executive, Samuel Somuah, with support from the Omanhene of the Kwamang Traditional Council, Nana Debrah Bediako Boateng II.
Each of the three units comprises a bedroom, kitchen, toilet and bathroom, as well as a porch, providing decent and comfortable accommodation for healthcare personnel.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Samuel Somuah expressed satisfaction with the successful completion of the project, which commenced in 2024. He noted that the facility would greatly improve healthcare service delivery by ensuring that health workers posted to the Kwamang Health Centre have access to suitable accommodation.
The District Director of Health Services, Susanna Nkrumah, commended the Assembly for its continuous investment in the health sector and assured stakeholders that the facility would be properly maintained for long-term use.
Also speaking at the ceremony, Nana Debrah Bediako Boateng II expressed appreciation to the Assembly for the intervention and called for further improvement in infrastructure and essential services at the health centre.
He expressed optimism that with continued development, the facility could eventually be upgraded to a polyclinic. The Omanhene also assured management of the health centre that renovation works on the old staff quarters would soon be completed to provide additional accommodation for health workers.
Residents and stakeholders have described the project as a significant step toward strengthening healthcare delivery and improving staff welfare in the district.
