In a public notice, the Assembly clarified that the reported sewerage spillage was resolved on July 7, 2026, and that officials from both the TMA and the Ghana Water Company Limited conducted a joint inspection of the site on the same day.

According to the Assembly, the assessment confirmed that the water supply system had not been contaminated and that the allegations circulating on social media were FALSE.

The TMA further noted that the Ghana Water Company Limited had indicated that the water supply line located within the road buffer near the affected area is redundant and is no longer used for water distribution.

The Assembly has therefore urged the public to disregard the misleading information and rely on official communication for accurate updates.

The Tema Metropolitan Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding public health and ensuring the safety of residents and businesses within the metropolis.
