The district currently has four main health centres located at Hemang, Jukwa, Mfuom, and Frami, providing essential healthcare services to residents. In addition, a facility operated by the Christian Health Association of Ghana at Abrafo continues to complement government efforts in delivering quality healthcare.

At the community level, the district has been demarcated into 22 Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) zones. However, only 14 of these are fully functional, leaving several communities without adequate access to primary healthcare services.

Health stakeholders say while the existing facilities have improved access to care, expanding and operationalizing the remaining CHPS zones is critical to reaching underserved areas, especially rural communities.

The situation has sparked calls for increased investment in healthcare infrastructure and logistics to ensure that all CHPS zones become fully functional.

Authorities remain optimistic that with continued support, the district will bridge the gap and bring quality healthcare closer to every community.
