The district currently operates 192 functional boreholes, supported by two limited mechanized boreholes and one Small Town Water System, forming the backbone of water supply across communities.

Despite this progress, access to piped water remains limited, with only a few communities benefiting from supply provided by the Ghana Water Company Limited.

As a result, the majority of residents depend heavily on both public and privately owned boreholes to meet their daily water needs.

The reliance on groundwater sources highlights the importance of continued investment in sustainable water infrastructure to expand coverage and ensure reliable access to safe drinking water across the district.
