KMA Intensifies Refuse Evacuation Exercise in Asem, Ohwim, and Airport Environs

The exercise was necessitated by indiscriminate dumping at unauthorized locations resulting from increased human activities within surrounding communities. Around the airport enclave, improper waste disposal had attracted birds, particularly crows, posing safety concerns.

The ongoing evacuation is therefore aimed at improving sanitation while reducing bird activity and associated risks.

Residents of the Asem Electoral Area are encouraged to use the newly provided refuse containers, following the evacuation of the former dumping site. The people of Ohwim will also be provided with new refuse containers to support proper waste disposal.

KMA calls on all residents to dump refuse only at designated points. Cleanliness is a shared responsibility let us all work together to keep Kumasi clean and safe.
