The beneficiaries were presented with fruit juice processing equipment during a start-up support exercise organized by the Municipal Business Advisory Centre (BAC), led by its Municipal Officer, Mr. Bernard Owusu Sampong. The initiative forms part of efforts to empower graduates of the programme to establish sustainable businesses, create jobs, and contribute to local economic development.
The Programme is implemented by the Ghana Enterprises Agency in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation through the BizBox Project and other development partners. The programme aims to bridge the gap between traditional agriculture and modern agribusiness by providing competency-based training, business development services, and start-up support for aspiring young entrepreneurs.
Addressing the beneficiaries, the Municipal Director of Agriculture, Madam Lina Adwutwumwaa Gyamfi, commended the Ghana Enterprises Agency and its partners for investing in the entrepreneurial potential of young people. She noted that the programme is making a significant contribution to job creation, value addition, and the growth of the local economy.
She congratulated the beneficiaries for successfully completing the training and encouraged them to put the knowledge and equipment received to productive use.
"The knowledge and skills you have acquired, together with the fruit juice processing equipment being presented today, provide an excellent opportunity to establish viable agribusinesses and create sustainable sources of income," she stated.
Delivering a speech on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Anwel Sadat Ahmed, the Municipal Human Resource Manager, Mrs. Pearl Minkah Bampoe, described the initiative as a clear demonstration of the commitment of government and development partners to empowering young people through entrepreneurship.
She noted that the beneficiaries had acquired practical skills in fruit juice processing and were now better positioned to establish and expand their own enterprises.
Mrs. Bampoe urged the beneficiaries to make effective use of the resources provided, apply the knowledge gained during the training, and remain committed to excellence in their entrepreneurial journeys.
She further expressed appreciation to the Ghana Enterprises Agency, the Mastercard Foundation, and all development partners for their continued investment in youth empowerment, sustainable employment, and economic development.
