The latest engagement provided a platform for the Assembly to update stakeholders on the objectives and scope of the project, discuss the proposed designation of trading zones, and address concerns to ensure that traders and other key stakeholders remain adequately informed and actively involved throughout the process.
The proposed market is expected to provide a modern, safe, convenient and well-organised trading environment for businesses and residents within the municipality and beyond. The facility will include a fire station, police station, parcel office, supermarkets, Women’s Bank, warehouses, stalls, open trading spaces, information centre, meat shops, restaurants, hostels, a creche, clinic and cold stores, among other essential facilities..jpg)
The project is anticipated to transform the trading environment at Nungua Sookpoti by improving sanitation, safety, accessibility and the overall conditions under which traders operate. It is also expected to create employment opportunities, stimulate local economic activity, expand opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses, and improve the livelihoods of traders and other residents.
The Krowor Municipal Assembly commended H.E. President John Dramani Mahama for the vision behind the 24-Hour Economy initiative and expressed appreciation to the Hon. Member of Parliament for Krowor for her commitment and continued support towards the realisation of the project.
The Assembly also expressed its profound gratitude to the Nungua Mantse and the Nuumo Gborbu Wulomo for their continued support and cooperation. Appreciation was further extended to the market queens, traders, shop owners, traditional leaders, consultants, contractors, Assembly Members and all other stakeholders who participated in the engagement.
These engagements will help strengthen communication, promote transparency, address emerging concerns, ensure proper coordination and facilitate a smooth transition as construction works commence.
