He was received by the Municipal Director of Health Services, Dr. Ransford Kwame Owusu, who accompanied him during the tour.

At the Obuasi Government Hospital, management briefed the MP on various operational challenges, including concerns about unreliable electricity supply to the facility.

In response, Hon. Kwarteng explained that the ongoing rehabilitation of the hospital includes the provision of a high-capacity generator capable of powering the entire facility during ECG power outages. He therefore indicated that there would be no need to procure an additional generator for that purpose.

Following discussions, the MP and hospital management agreed that servicing the existing generators would be a more immediate solution to address power challenges. Hon. Kwarteng subsequently pledged to provide funds to support the servicing of the generators.

Management further appealed to the MP to assist in procuring new generators for clinics at Kunka, Sanso, Central Market, Mamiriwa, and Anyinam to improve service delivery.

At the Kunka Clinic, Hon. Kwarteng inspected an ongoing expansion project funded through the MP’s Project Funds and assured the facility of additional support to ensure its completion within the year. He also visited the maternity ward currently under construction by the Municipal Assembly.

The MP commended health workers for their dedication and expressed appreciation for their commitment to providing quality healthcare services to residents of the Obuasi Municipality.
