She said the edifice was a testament that, with consistent strategic steps, growth, innovation, and success are within reach, adding that it symbolised hope, progress, and a deep commitment to the health and well-being of the prison community.

Mrs. Baffoe-Bonnie noted that upgrading the Koforidua clinic and other prison facilities aligned with efforts to modernise the service.

She commended past leadership and staff of Koforidua Local Prison and encouraged other stations to follow suit. “Henceforth, I entreat all of us to ‘think prisons’ in all we do,” she added.

Chief Superintendent of Prisons (CSP) Francis Aggrey Kwakye, Officer-In-Charge of Koforidua Local Prison, expressed gratitude to the Director-General and her team.

He praised stakeholders for their dedication, saying their collective effort made the project possible.

CSP Kwakye stated that the commissioning should not only recognize past achievements but also motivate ongoing dedication to promoting health equity and preserving human dignity.
