Nanumba North MCE Commissions New CHPS Compounds to Boost Healthcare Access at Jakpumba and Kanjonaaya

The Municipal Chief Executive of the Nanumba North Municipal Assembly, Hon. Abdul Samed Hamza, has commissioned newly constructed Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds at Jakpumba and Kanjonaaya.

The commissioning ceremony, held in the two beneficiary communities, marked another significant step in the Assembly’s efforts to expand access to quality healthcare across the Municipality. The newly completed facilities are expected to provide essential primary healthcare services, including maternal and child health care, immunization, minor ailment treatment, and health education to residents.

Addressing community members and stakeholders at the event, the MCE emphasized that the provision of the CHPS compounds forms part of the Assembly’s broader strategy to bring healthcare services closer to the doorstep of the people, particularly those in rural and hard-to-reach areas. He noted that improved access to primary healthcare is crucial to promoting preventive care and reducing avoidable health complications.

Hon. Abdul Samed Hamza further encouraged residents to take full advantage of the facilities and support health professionals posted to the communities. He assured the public of the Assembly’s continued commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and ensuring equitable service delivery throughout the Municipality.

Community leaders and residents expressed appreciation to the Assembly for the intervention, describing the new CHPS compounds as timely and impactful. The facilities are expected to ease the burden on distant health centres and significantly improve health outcomes in Jakpumba, Kanjonaaya, and surrounding communities.

The commissioning of the CHPS compounds underscores the Assembly’s dedication to enhancing healthcare delivery and improving the overall wellbeing of the people within the Municipality.
