A Boost for Skilled Trades

Officials Hail Programme as a Game-Changer
Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Frank Amoakohene, who performed the official launch, emphasized the government’s commitment to reducing financial barriers for young entrepreneurs.
“We are empowering the youth not just with skills, but with the tangible tools needed to build their businesses and futures,” he stated. “This is a critical strategy to create jobs, deter social vices, and combat crime.”
He also announced that all registered apprentices are covered by insurance for added security.
Ejisu Member of Parliament, Lawyer Kwabena Boateng, praised the programme for addressing what he termed “the biggest national security threat: youth unemployment.” He urged the government to ensure its long-term sustainability.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Ejisu, Hon. Jerryne Asante, highlighted the programme’s direct impact. “This initiative is significantly reducing unemployment locally and nationally by creating thousands of jobs through skilled trades,” she said.

The occasion was chaired by Nana Akwasi Agyekum II, Chief of Donaso, representing the Paramount Chief of Ejisu, Nana Afrane Okese. He admonished the master craftsmen and trainers receiving the equipment on behalf of their apprentices to ensure the tools are used productively to create jobs within their communities.
