The event was held under the theme: "Celebrating 35 Years of Holistic Secondary and Technical Education: The Role of Stakeholders."

The Case for Technical Education

Prof. Kwaku Antwi emphasised that technical education provides practical problem-solving skills, fosters self-reliance, develops entrepreneurial capabilities, and shapes character—all of which are strategic to national development. Speaking on the sector's relevance, he stated that technical education is vital for addressing the emerging technological needs of the 21st century and highlighted ESHTS as a major contributor to this effort.

He urged parents and guardians to provide emotional support to their wards, noting that this would promote mental health and enhance academic excellence. He also cautioned students against underestimating their potential simply because they are pursuing technical or vocational paths. Turning to his fellow alumni, Prof. Antwi rallied them to support the school's infrastructural development and encouraged them to offer mentorship and scholarships to needy students.

Government Support and Infrastructure Commitments

The Administrator of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), Mr. Samuel Adjei, noted that the school's exponential growth from its humble beginnings cannot be overemphasised. He affirmed that the school's motto—"Hard Work for Success"—is truly reflected in individuals who have been empowered to innovate, inspire, create, and remain resilient.

Mr. Adjei promised to facilitate government processes to help the school complete all ongoing GETFund projects. Furthermore, in line with the government's vision to equip schools and eliminate the double-track system, he pledged that ESHTS would be supplied with metal mono-desks and bunk beds. He also promised to allocate one of the newly procured buses to the school.

Student Leadership Calls for Modernisation

During his speech, the Senior Prefect, Raphael Asamoah Agyemang, urged alumni, philanthropists, and the government to assist the school with modern infrastructure, including a state-of-the-art ICT laboratory, an assembly hall, and a dining hall.

Headmistress Highlights Achievements and Challenges

The Headmistress, Mrs. Grace Asamani, disclosed that the school now runs courses in Arts, Business, and traditional technical and vocational subjects such as Home Economics. With a current staff strength of 231, she noted that dedication, hard work, integrity, and teamwork have helped the institution provide quality technical education to many in industry and academia.

However, Mrs. Asamani stressed that despite these successes, the school has battled an infrastructural deficit since its inception in 1991. Corroborating the Senior Prefect's earlier remarks, she called on benevolent individuals, stakeholders, and corporate institutions to assist in the school's development. She added that the school urgently needs a girls' dormitory, a modern kitchen, a larger generator, and residential accommodation for teachers—particularly bungalows for the headmistress, house masters, and house mistresses. She noted that the designated bungalow for the headmistress has been converted into a storage facility, explaining that housing key personnel on campus would ensure better discipline among students.

Achievements and Donations

In his welcome address, the Board Chairman, Nana Obeng Panin II, enumerated some of the school's achievements, including winning the Best School Farm Award in 2025 and witnessing improvements in student discipline and morality.

Nana Bobie Ansah II, the Paramount Chief of Bonwire and Chairman of the occasion, donated GH? 10,000.00 to support the school's developmental projects.

Distinguished Dignitaries in Attendance

Dignitaries present included the Regional Director for Education, Dr. Amankrah; the Administrator of GETFund, Mr. Samuel Adjei; and the Municipal Director for Education, Mr. Kwabena Owusu. Also in attendance were the MCE for Ejisu, Hon. Jerryne Asante; a representative of the Regional Minister; local traditional leaders; heads of sister Senior High Schools; the clergy; and the Municipal Chief Imam, Abdullai Saeed.
