The spectacular event drew prominent chiefs, opinion leaders, media houses, security officials, politicians, and proud farmers, all gathering to honor the men and women who feed the Mponua- and by extension, Ghana.

In a moving tribute, Hon. Seth Osei Akoto, MP for the constituency, praised farmers for their unwavering dedication despite the many challenges they face. He promised to continue fighting for their fair share of resources, saying he would tirelessly lobby development partners to “put Mponua in the limelight.”

Delivering the keynote address on the theme “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future, Hon. Issahak Ibrahim urged Ghana’s youth to embrace farming, emphasizing that agriculture remains the backbone of the country’s prosperity. “Agriculture creates jobs, guarantees food security, and drives economic transformation,” he declared, encouraging citizens to take full advantage of government initiatives like Nkok? Nketikiti, free fertilizers, and soft loans to expand their trade to earn more income.

By the end of the electrifying ceremony, 21 hardworking farmers walked away with awards across different categories — but it was Yaw Asitey’s remarkable triumph that captured every heart.
