The initiative, according to him, forms part of broader efforts to promote transparency, accountability, and public confidence in the Assembly’s financial management.

Mr. Tanei explained that the engagements are designed to openly share information on the various projects and developmental activities funded through the IGF.

By meeting with traditional authorities, assembly members, civil society organizations, and community representatives, the DCE hopes to address lingering concerns and dispel the widespread perception that the Assembly has been misappropriating funds collected from the people.

He emphasized that the Assembly remains committed to ensuring that every cedi collected from local revenue sources such as market tolls, business operating permits, and property rates is judiciously used to improve social amenities and boost local development.

The DCE further noted that such accountability forums will be organized regularly to foster continuous dialogue between the Assembly and residents, strengthening trust and encouraging citizens to honor their tax obligations.
