The deteriorating structure, which had become unsafe, was abandoned after sections of the building gave way.
School authorities were compelled to evacuate pupils to avert possible accidents, as rusty roofing sheets and weakened walls exposed the children to harsh weather conditions, disrupting effective teaching and learning.
The relief came when the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Offinso South, Mr. Frank Owusu Amoah, donated 20 bags of cement towards the reshaping and rehabilitation of the KG block. He also assured the school of additional support with sand to complete the renovation works.
Expressing appreciation, the MCE noted that the intervention was aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of the pupils and restoring a conducive learning environment.
The Acting Headmaster, Mr. Samuel Agyei Kodua, earlier described the situation as alarming and long-standing, explaining that several appeals for assistance had gone unanswered.
The Headmaster, Mr. Marfo Kwaku, on behalf of the staff and pupils, expressed profound gratitude to the MCE and the Offinso South Municipal Assembly for their swift response.
“This support will make a significant difference to our school community and help safeguard our children,” he said.
