New Juaben South Assembly Commissions Zion Basic School to Enhance Teaching and Learning

The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly (NJSMA) has commissioned the newly completed Zion Basic School in Koforidua, marking a significant investment in educational infrastructure aimed at improving teaching and learning outcomes within the municipality.

The commissioning ceremony, held on June 30, 2026, was led by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for New Juaben South, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye, together with the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey.

The event brought together pupils, teachers, officials from the Municipal Education Directorate, the Eastern Regional Police Commander, and other key stakeholders who witnessed the official opening of the facility.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye emphasized the critical role of education in the development of the municipality and the nation at large.

"Investing in education is investing in the future of our municipality. This facility will give our children the environment they deserve to learn and thrive," he stated.

He noted that the provision of quality educational infrastructure remains a priority for the Assembly, as it seeks to create conducive learning environments that support academic excellence and the holistic development of pupils.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, commended the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly for its commitment to improving educational infrastructure and reaffirmed the government's dedication to ensuring equitable access to quality education.

The commissioning of the Zion Basic School is expected to significantly improve learning conditions for pupils while enhancing the delivery of quality education in the Koforidua community.

The project forms part of the Assembly's broader agenda to strengthen the education sector through sustained investments in infrastructure, teaching and learning resources, and other interventions aimed at improving educational outcomes across the municipality.
