On Tuesday, 6th January 2026, the team paid a working visit to the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Issahak Ibrahim, to formally report and brief him on their preparedness, operational plans, and commitment to safeguarding the district’s water bodies and environment.
Welcoming the team, Hon. Issahak Ibrahim commended the initiative and underscored the critical role the Water Guards will play in the ongoing fight against illegal mining, particularly activities that threaten rivers, streams, and other vital water sources. He charged the team to discharge their duties with commitment, diligence, and fearlessness, stressing that there must be no compromise in the enforcement of the law.

“The destruction of our water bodies and environment through illegal mining is a direct threat to our livelihoods, public health, and the future of Atwima Mponua,” the DCE stated. “I urge you to remain resolute, disciplined, and professional at all times. Your work is not just a duty—it is a service to present and future generations.”
Hon. Issahak Ibrahim further assured the Water Guards of the District Assembly’s full support and collaboration with relevant security agencies and stakeholders to ensure the success of their operations.
This development marks a renewed and strengthened commitment by the Atwima Mponua District to protect its natural resources, preserve its environment, and decisively confront illegal mining in all its forms.
