Market Center

The Kpalbe, Bunjai, Jidanturu and Latinkpa markets are the major marketing centers in the District where traders from Salaga, Tamale and other parts of the North come to trade.

Roads

The road network in the district spans a total of 306.1km linking the district capital (Kpalbe) to other communities as well as other neighboring districts. A total of 217.8km or 71 percent of the road network is engineered but are currently in deplorable condition and 67.50km partly engineered. The non-engineered roads total 22.75km. Others are farm tracks, which are accessible only during the dry season.

Many of these roads are in a deplorable condition which are not motorable especially during the raining season making it difficult for commuters and farmers to transport their farm produce.

Energy

Fifteen (15) communities are connected to the national grid representing approximately 33% of the population coverage in the district. Efforts are still on the way to have every community in the District connected to the National Grid.
