Delivering the 2026 Sessional Address in Buipe, District Chief Executive Hon. Mahama Fuseini disclosed that kidnapping cases have reduced by five percent, assault cases by ten percent, unlawful possession of firearms by fifty percent, while threatening and abduction cases have recorded a remarkable one hundred percent reduction.

According to the DCE, the improved security situation is the result of effective collaboration among the District Security Council, security agencies, traditional authorities, religious leaders, youth groups, and community members.

"Security remains a prerequisite for development. Without peace, no meaningful progress can be achieved," Hon. Fuseini stressed, while commending stakeholders for their collective efforts in maintaining peace and stability within the district.

However, the DCE expressed concern over persistent highway robberies and emerging kidnapping activities occurring between parts of Central Gonja and neighbouring districts. He called for enhanced collaboration among security agencies, Assembly Members, traditional authorities, and residents to tackle the menace.

Hon. Fuseini emphasized that sustaining peace and security remains critical to attracting investment, improving livelihoods, and accelerating development across the district.
