The most affected communities included Goriga, Timonguri, Natinga, and Biringu, where several residents have been displaced by the disaster.

The Bawku West District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr. James Ayamwego, together with the District NADMO Coordinator, visited the affected communities to assess the damage and sympathise with the victims. However, no relief items had been distributed to the affected families at the time of filing this report.

Mr. Francis Ayaaba Apam, Assembly Member for the Timonde Electoral Area, described the situation as difficult and distressing for affected residents.

He said families within the communities had made temporary arrangements to accommodate displaced persons until assistance arrived.

Mr. Apam appealed to the authorities, especially the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), to urgently support the affected communities with relief items such as blankets, plastic containers, and roofing materials.

He further urged authorities and philanthropists to consider the emotional and psychological impact of the disaster on victims who had lost their homes and properties.

He also appealed to individuals, particularly family members living outside the communities, to extend support to affected persons to help them recover from the disaster.
