The colorful ceremony brought together traditional leaders, education directors, parents, and community members who gathered to witness what many described as a transformational intervention in the area’s educational infrastructure.
Addressing the gathering, the Municipal Chief Executive, Effah Osei Bonsu David, recounted the journey of the project, which commenced in 2024 but faced delays due to technical and logistical challenges.
He noted that in line with the Assembly’s resolve to complete all ongoing projects, construction works were revitalized in the last quarter of 2025. The contractor was subsequently pushed to meet strict quality standards, resulting in the modern and child-friendly facility commissioned today.
Hon. Effah Osei Bonsu David emphasized that the provision of infrastructure alone is not enough, stressing the importance of sustainability. He tasked the Ghana Education Service and the school’s leadership to cultivate a strong maintenance culture to preserve the facility for future generations.
He further assured the Kofi Wusu community of the Assembly’s readiness to provide desks and other essential furniture to ensure a smooth transition into the new learning environment once academic activities begin.
The Municipal Chief Executive also expressed profound appreciation to the chiefs and people of Kofi Wusu for their continuous cooperation and support throughout the construction phase, noting that community collaboration played a vital role in the successful completion of the project.
The commissioning underscores the Assembly’s broader agenda of expanding access to quality education infrastructure, particularly within rural communities across Kwahu South.
