A total of sixty-one (61) Junior High Schools, with 1,829 candidates, sat for the examination. Out of the total number, 918 candidates are boys while 911 are girls. Five candidates, however, failed to report for the examination.
The Tano South Municipal Director of Education, Mrs. Agnes Amihere, officials of the Tano South Municipal Assembly, and the Municipal Directorate of Education accompanied the MCE, Hon. Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, to visit the three examination centres at Bechem, Techimantia, and Derma to interact with candidates, invigilators, and supervisors.
Addressing the candidates, Hon. Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong conveyed greetings and a message of goodwill from the President, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, and the Member of Parliament for Tano South, Hon. Charles Asiedu. He urged the candidates to stay focused, emphasizing that the outcome of the examinations would play a significant role in determining their future educational pursuits.
Hon. Frimpong assured the candidates that the examination was within their capabilities and consistent with what they had been taught throughout their academic journey. He encouraged the students to approach the examinations with seriousness and confidence, drawing strength from the training and guidance provided by their teachers.
In his closing remarks, Hon. Frimpong strongly advised the candidates to desist from all forms of examination malpractice, urging them to rely on their own preparation rather than external assistance. He also announced that the Member of Parliament, Hon. Charles Asiedu, had made examination materials available for distribution to the candidates and had provided transportation support (TNT) for those travelling from distant communities to the examination centres.
In a brief but inspiring address, the Tano South Municipal Director of Education, Mrs. Agnes Amihere, congratulated the candidates on their nine-year academic journey to the BECE stage and encouraged them to give off their best in the examinations. She urged them to say no to examination malpractice and remain committed to integrity.
Mrs. Amihere concluded by offering practical examination tips, including careful reading of examination questions and effective time management. She urged the candidates to remain calm and focused throughout the examination period and wished them success, challenging them to make their families, teachers, and Ghana proud through excellent performance.
