Bono RCC holds council meeting

The Bono Regional Co-coordinating Council (BRCC) has held its maiden Council meeting for 2024 at its premises in Sunyani to discuss general security situation, development projects, chieftaincy disputes, general elections and other pertinent issues of concern.

The Bono Regional Minister Justina Owusu- Banahene in her delivery welcomed all, most especially the Chief Director for RCC Mr. Andrew Mensah and the new elected Preceding Members (PM) elected in persons of Kwang Godfred of Jaman south , Alimatu Amadu of Banda and Fatimatu Abubakari of Berekum East. She encouraged the various assemblies with no PM to make conscious efforts to elect their PMs to ensure effective and efficient working of the Assembly.

Touching on Security issues, the Regional Minister (RM) informed the Council that the Region was peaceful and calm despite few inescapable issues handled by the Security agencies. She commended the various Security Agencies for their resilient hard work and efforts.

In Related issues of concern, the RM indicated that developmental projects were implemented across the various Municipalities and Districts funded under DPAT, DACF, GETFUND, GOG and SCONDARY CITY SUPPORT PROJECT.

She noted that these development projects include schools, market, Lorry Parks, District Hospitals under the Agenda 111 flagship programs and others. The RM made known some projects that were completed, inaugurated and used by beneficiary communities whilst others were steadily ongoing.

In related development, issues of roads were not left untouched, Madam Justina lamented on how devastating the condition of roads in the region had become. She lauded that actionable steps have been taken to remedy the situation. The Minister assured that the President Nana Addo Dankwa –Akuffo Addo promised that the road would see a lot of improvement soon.

The Regional Police Commander DCOP Joseph Okulu, in his delivery, advised the Council to preach peace message as we head toward the main general Election. He again updated the house on the general happenings, achievements and some major challenges that needed to be addressed with immediate effect.

Present were, the Catholic Bishop of Sunyani, Chief Director RCC, MMDCEs, PMs, Coordinating Directors, Heads of Departments and RCC staff.
