The District Chief Executive, Mr. Dodzi Addison Mornyuie, stated that the initiative forms part of the Assembly’s ongoing efforts to improve the socio-economic well-being of persons with disabilities and encourage their active participation in local development.

Items distributed included freezers, grinding machines, wheelchairs, industrial sewing machines, sacks of maize, plastic chairs, and other tools to help beneficiaries expand their businesses and strengthen their income sources.

Mr. Mornyuie reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to prioritising the welfare and empowerment of persons with disabilities, noting that the intervention seeks to promote dignity, self-reliance, and equal opportunities.

He commended the beneficiaries for their resilience and contributions to the development of the district and assured them of continued support through targeted programmes.

The Member of Parliament for the area, Mr. Alexander Roosevelt Hottordze, also lauded the initiative and pledged his continued support for programmes that promote inclusion and improve the living conditions of vulnerable groups. He emphasised the need for sustained collaboration to advance development across the district and urged beneficiaries to use the items responsibly rather than sell them.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Assembly, describing the support as timely and impactful in enhancing their economic activities and livelihoods. They also appealed for the continuation of such interventions to benefit more people in the district.
