Currently, only 34 women, representing just 13.3 percent, are occupying high offices as Chief Executives in all 261 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) across the country.

The figure represents just a minute portion compared to their male counterparts holding up similar positions at various MMDAs to champion government businesses.

The regional breakdown link is as follows, Ashanti 3, Bono 1, Central 3, Eastern 5, Greater Accra 8, Northern 1, North East 2, Oti 3, Savannah 1, Upper East 3, Upper West 2, Volta 1 and Western 1.

However, Ahafo, Bono East and the Western North regions have no female representation as Chief Executives currently.
