The award, presented by the municipal assembly, recognized his dedication and innovation in agriculture during the 4oth national farmers Day celebration at Aprade on Friday, November 8, 2024.

As part of the award, Mr. Ollenu received a range of farming tools and supplies, including a new refrigerator, knapsack sprayers, fertilizers, cutlasses and wellington boots. The event was attended by Local traditional leaders and some politicians who joined in celebrating this significant achievement.

Speaking with Ghanadistricts.com Mr. Ollenu expressed his gratitude to the Assembly for seeing his hard work, and the integration of agricultural technology in livestock farming.  He further said through technological application, he can now generate biogas from the poultry waste for domestic use and produce liquid fertilizer from the same waste, which he provides to local vegetable farmers.

He said his commitment in farming remains strong, as he highlighted the economic benefits and stability the sector offers.

He urges the youth to see farming as a valuable career, dismissing the notion that it is a profession only for the uneducated.
