From staple foods to exotic vegetables, the metropolis is buzzing with agricultural activity that continues to support households, markets, and local industries.

The major crops powering the metropolis’s food basket include cassava, plantain, maize, rice, yam, and cocoyam—all grown extensively across farming communities. In addition to these staples, farmers are increasingly venturing into the cultivation of exotic vegetables, supplying both local markets and urban consumers with fresh produce.
