Kintampo Municipal commissions new immigration office complex
The Kintampo Municipal Assembly in the Bono East Region has commissioned an ultramodern office complex for the Municipal Immigration Service Department.

The Project, which is one of the modern facilities in the region comprises of spacious offices for personnel of the Immigration Service among other significant departments to enable them deliver on their mandate.
Speaking at a short but colourful ceremony, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kintampo North, Mr. Isaac Baffoe Ameyaw, expressed his delights over the new office complex, which he said, would satisfactorily aid the work of the service.
He said he was optimistic that the facility would help maintain peace and also equip the service to properly regulate and monitor the entry, residence, employment and exit of all foreigners.
Mr. Baffoe also used the opportunity to appeal to the Regional Minister and Regional Commander of the Ghana Immigration Service to create a Passport Application Center in the Municipality to serve as the Regional passport Application Centre.
The Regional Immigration Officer, Mr. Enock Anor Abelaqua, in his address was very much grateful to the Municipal Assembly for funding the building to serve as an office accommodation for the service.
He gave an assurance that personnel will do everything possible to protect the municipality.
On his part, the Bono East Regional Minister, Mr. Kwasi Edu Gyan, lauded President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his government’s quest to extend development to all parts of the country.
He also commended the President’s strong resilience to promote safety and peaceful environment for all.
He said, “the use of ICT is everywhere and borders protection and security operation are not left out the use of office automation, internet to publish and disseminate information and other sensors to limit entry and flush out illegal immigrants in the country has become indispensable in providing security” he stated.
The Regional Minister noted that it is high time Ghana relied on innovative ways in dealing with security threats in the region and the country as a whole.
Mr. Kwasi Adu Gyn, the Regional Minister for Bono East Region, said his outfit will work collaboratively with the interior ministry to help ensure maximum security in the area.
He charged residents to do their best by providing accurate and timely information to security officers to enable them discharge their duties effectively to promote peace in the region.
