Atwima Mponua MP Cuts Sod for Construction of Two Police Stations

Mr. Seth Osei Akoto, Member of Parliament (MP) for Atwima Mponua in the Ashanti Region, has cut the sod for the construction of two police stations in the constituency.

The project is aimed at enhancing security, improving community safety, and strengthening law enforcement in Kotokuom and Bayerebon No. Five communities and their surrounding areas.

Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony at Kotokuom, Mr. Akoto stressed the importance of improving security infrastructure, noting that safety remained the foundation for sustainable development.

“A secure environment is essential for growth, investment, and peace of mind,” he stated.

The projects, which are being funded from his share of the MPs Common Fund, are expected to be completed within the next eight months.

Mr. Akoto highlighted several benefits of the initiative, including increased police visibility, faster emergency response times, improved collaboration between security agencies and rural communities, and enhanced local employment opportunities.

He emphasized that promises backed by action could bring tangible improvements in people’s lives and demonstrate a results-oriented approach to leadership. According to him, the initiative represents a meaningful step toward creating a safer and more secure environment for residents in the area.

The MP also appealed to the contractors to engage unemployed youth in the beneficiary communities to support their livelihoods during the construction period.

Nana Kofi Agyemang I, the Odikro of Kotokuom, commended the MP for fulfilling his campaign promise. He noted that the project would help create a safer and more resilient environment for residents to live and work peacefully.
