Almost all communities are now connected to the national grid, with only a few remaining areas yet to be fully integrated into the electricity network, marking significant progress in the district’s rural electrification drive.

This wide coverage has contributed to improved socio-economic activities, enhanced security, and better living standards for residents across the district.

As part of efforts to improve public safety and visibility at night, the District Assembly is also actively supporting the provision and maintenance of street lights, particularly along major roads and strategic locations within communities.

The initiative has helped reduce crime concerns, improve night-time business activities, and enhance overall community mobility after dark.

Stakeholders note that continued investment in energy infrastructure will further strengthen development, support small businesses, and improve service delivery across Gomoa Central.

The Assembly has reaffirmed its commitment to expanding electricity access to remaining unserved communities while sustaining street lighting maintenance for safer and more vibrant communities.
