The support package included deep freezers, goats, sheep and cash, depending on the individual needs of the beneficiaries.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Mion, Hon. Hamza Azindow Moabalyn, urged the beneficiaries to utilise the items and financial assistance judiciously to improve their living conditions and enhance their economic well-being.

He further appealed to beneficiaries who were yet to receive their support to remain patient, assuring them that the outstanding assistance would be provided within the next two months.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mma Asana from Gunsi expressed gratitude to the government for increasing the allocation for Persons with Disabilities from three per cent to five per cent.

She also commended the Mion District Assembly and the DCE for the support, pledging that the beneficiaries would make effective use of the items and funds to improve their livelihoods.

The beneficiaries expressed optimism that the assistance would enable them to become more economically independent and contribute meaningfully to the development of their respective communities.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Hon. Misbahu Adams Mahama, also assured the beneficiaries of the government's commitment to ensuring the timely release of the disability fund to the Assembly.

He noted that the timely release of the funds would help ease the challenges faced by PWDs and enable them to receive the support they needed to improve their socio-economic conditions.
