The projects, which are expected to ease pressure on overcrowded schools, enhance primary healthcare delivery, and reduce water insecurity, were launched at several locations, including Amrahia Community Basic School, Amrahia Health Center, Otanor Community Basic School, Adentan Community Basic School, Ashaley Botwe Health Center, and Ashiyie Community Basic School.
Key components of the education projects include a two-storey, six-unit classroom block at Amrahia; an 18-unit classroom block at Otanor; a three-storey, 18-unit classroom block at Adentan; and a two-unit kindergarten classroom block at Ashiyie. These facilities are aimed at improving learning environments and addressing long-standing capacity constraints in basic schools within the municipality.

In the health sector, works include the construction of a two-storey health block with a staff bungalow at the Amrahia Health Center, as well as perimeter fencing and landscaping at the Ashaley Botwe Health Center to improve safety and protect public assets.
Additionally, the Assembly announced a municipality-wide programme to drill and install 13 boreholes within six months. The initiative is intended to provide reliable potable water to households and schools, reduce dependence on unsafe water sources, and support sanitation efforts.
Addressing the gathering, Member of Parliament for Adentan, Hon. Ella Christine Esinam Nongo, said the education projects would significantly ease overcrowding and create safer, more conducive learning spaces for children. On his part, Hon. Mohamed Ramandan highlighted the importance of health infrastructure, noting that improved facilities translate into better healthcare delivery at the community level.

The Assembly noted that, beyond improved service delivery, the projects are expected to generate short-term employment during construction and deliver long-term social benefits. However, it emphasized the need for timely execution, transparent procurement processes, and effective maintenance plans to ensure sustainability and maintain public confidence.
The sod-cutting programme marks a major step in the Assembly’s development agenda, combining education, health, and water infrastructure to improve living conditions across the Adentan Municipality.
