The district has one major tourist site located at New Obuasi, featuring large stones and rock formations with significant volumes of flowing water passing through them. The scenic nature of the site presents strong potential to become a major tourism destination if properly developed and promoted.

Despite its natural beauty, the site remains largely undeveloped and has not yet been fully harnessed for tourism purposes. Stakeholders believe that with adequate investment in infrastructure, accessibility, and marketing, the attraction could generate revenue and create employment opportunities for residents.

The development of the site is also expected to diversify the local economy beyond agriculture and improve the district’s visibility as a potential eco-tourism destination in the Central Region.

The District Assembly has therefore been encouraged to explore partnerships with relevant stakeholders in the tourism sector to fully develop and promote the site for both domestic and international visitors.
