Northern Regional Minister Commissions Boreholes, Boosts Access to Safe Water in Mion District
Residents of Kpelijini and Sang Bayanwaya in the Mion District are celebrating improved access to clean drinking water following the commissioning of newly constructed solar-powered mechanized boreholes by the Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Ali Adolf John.

The commissioning formed part of a project inspection tour undertaken by the Minister and the District Chief Executive for Mion, Hon. Azindow Hamzah Moabalyn, ahead of the District Assembly's Accounting to the People and Town Hall Meeting held in Sang.
Addressing community members, Hon. Ali Adolf John described access to potable water as a critical development necessity that directly impacts health, education, sanitation and economic productivity.
He urged residents to take ownership of the facilities by ensuring proper maintenance and protection to guarantee long-term benefits for future generations.
The Regional Minister noted that the government's investment in water infrastructure forms part of broader efforts to improve living conditions and bridge development gaps in rural communities across the Northern Region.
Residents expressed appreciation for the intervention, describing the boreholes as a timely solution to longstanding water challenges in the beneficiary communities.
