Newly appointed administrator of MDF meets management and staff

Dr Hannah Louisa Bissiw, the newly appointed Administrator of Minerals Development Fund (MDF), has officially met with the management and staff of the organization to introduce herself, share his vision, and outline his plans to further propel the Fund’s mission of providing resources to mining communities.

In her remarks, she commended the MDF team for their hard work and dedication in enhancing the Fund’s services over the years but stressed that there was still much work to be done.   

She stressed on the need to deliver adequately to the deprived mining communities as illegal mining has become increasingly important to tackle.  

I urge all of you to support our drive to support the local communities, especially the suffering ones”, Dr Bissiw said.  

Dr Norris Hamma, Former Administrator of MDF, who officially handed over the leadership reins to Dr Bissiw, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the management and staff for their support during his tenure.   

He called for continued support for the new Administrator to help achieve the mission of the Fund.  

Dr Bissiw’s appointment as MDF Administrator was made by President John Dramani Mahama, as she was competent to handle the task.  

One of Dr Bissiw’s primary objectives is to strengthen collaboration with key ministries and government agencies to deliver effectively.  

The Minerals Development Fund Act, 2016, (ACT 912) was passed by Parliament on the 29th of March 2016, specifically to ensure true improvement in the standard of living within Mining Communities across the country affected by mining operations.  

Dr Bissiw is currently serving as the National Women Organizer of the ruling National

Democratic Congress (NDC).
