As part of the visit, the Ministry donated a variety of food items to enhance the welfare of the inmates. The items included 250 bags of rice, 50 bags of maize, 50 bags of gari, 50 bags of sugar, 30 gallons of cooking oil, 50 cartons of tomato paste, 50 cartons of spaghetti, and 50 boxes of sardines.

The programme featured a time of praise, worship, and ministration led by the Men’s Ministry. Delivering a sermon, the Head Pastor of the Ringway Gospel Centre Assemblies of God Church, Reverend Benjamin Tettey, encouraged inmates not to lose hope despite their current circumstances. He urged them to embrace repentance, pursue reform, and place their faith in Jesus Christ for strength and renewal.

Addressing the gathering, President Mahama emphasized the need for compassion and care for persons in custody, noting that society has a responsibility to support their rehabilitation. He further pledged to improve sporting facilities within the prison to enhance inmate well-being.

The President also assured inmates of support from the Lordina Foundation toward their healthcare needs.

As part of the visit, the delegation toured ongoing development projects at the facility, including a 5,000-layer poultry project and an 800-capacity remand prison, both aimed at addressing congestion and improving conditions at the Nsawam Medium Security Prison.

The visit underscores efforts by both government and faith-based organizations to promote rehabilitation, welfare, and hope among inmates.
