Achiase Assembly Supports 82 PWDs with Start-Up Kits, Capital

The Achiase District Assembly, through the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, has supported 82 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) with start-up kits and financial capital to establish or expand their businesses.

The support was presented by the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Samuel Owusu Brako, as part of the Assembly’s efforts to promote inclusive development and improve the livelihoods of vulnerable persons across the district.

The intervention is aimed at empowering the beneficiaries to engage in sustainable income-generating activities, achieve greater economic independence and contribute meaningfully to the development of their families and communities.

Speaking at the presentation, Hon. Samuel Owusu Brako urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the support and manage their businesses responsibly to ensure that the assistance translates into sustainable livelihoods.

He encouraged them to remain committed to their businesses and use the opportunity to improve their economic circumstances and become self-reliant.

The Achiase District Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to creating opportunities and providing targeted support to improve the well-being and economic empowerment of Persons with Disabilities across the district.

The Assembly noted that such interventions form part of its broader efforts to ensure that vulnerable groups are included in the district’s development process and have the necessary resources to improve their livelihoods.
