West Akim Assembly Commissions Phase One of Mechanized Borehole Project

The West Akim Municipal Assembly has successfully commissioned Phase One of its mechanized borehole project, marking a major milestone in efforts to improve access to potable water across the municipality.

The project, spearheaded by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Paulina Akabila, has brought much-needed relief to residents of Adiembra, Akanteng, Bunso, Cocoa Station, and Akwadum, where access to safe and reliable water has long been a challenge.

Commissioning the facilities, Hon. Akabila emphasized the critical role of proper maintenance in sustaining the project. She called on community members and stakeholders to take collective responsibility in preserving the boreholes to ensure their long-term functionality.

She noted that the initiative forms part of the Assembly’s broader development agenda aimed at enhancing the quality of life of residents through improved social infrastructure.

Hon. Akabila further assured residents that the Assembly has lined up additional projects across various sectors, reaffirming her commitment to driving development and making the West Akim Municipality a better place for all.

The successful completion of Phase One is expected to significantly reduce water-related challenges and contribute to improved health and sanitation in the beneficiary communities.
