ASUOGYAMAN: Assembly moves to reduce unemployment
The National Entrepreneurship and Innovations Plan (NEIP) has been launched in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region with the aim of encouraging the youth in the area to startup their own businesses.

Announcing this at the Assembly’s First Ordinary meeting, District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, Mr. Samuel Kwame Agyekum said, the programme was implemented through the Youth Employment Agency (YEP) in collaboration with the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) with the intention of partnering the youth to build experience and set permanent employment.
According to him, the programme, also in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and Ghana Police Service is set to employ a considerable number of young Ghanaians as Community Police Officers with the goal of ensuring protection and security in the district.
The YEA, he noted is also set to expand the youth in sanitation module to ensure day to day cleaning in the area.
He was confident that the programme will help reduce the rate of unemployment situation in the area.
