The disbursement marks the first such exercise for the year and underscores the Assembly's commitment to advancing the government's policy of social inclusion and support for vulnerable groups.
Beneficiaries, representing various disability groups including those with health, visual, physical, and intellectual disabilities, received tailored support. A sum of sixteen thousand Ghana cedis (GH? 16,000.00) was allocated for health support among five recipients. An additional twenty-two thousand cedis (GH? 22,000.00) was disbursed to twelve (12) beneficiaries for educational needs, bringing the total allocation to thirty-eight thousand cedis (GH? 38,000.00).
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Jerryne Asante, expressed her elation at the event. She highlighted the collaborative effort of the government and the Assembly in bringing tangible relief to the less privileged.
"We are pleased to put smiles on the faces of our vulnerable citizens," stated Hon. Asante. "This disbursement is particularly significant because we have managed to increase the support each individual receives compared to previous allocations. It reflects our sustained dedication to improving welfare and fostering inclusivity within our municipality."
