The visit, held at the Omanhene’s Palace, also provided an opportunity to formally introduce Hon. Benjamin Marfo to the Omanhene and members of the Traditional Council following his assumption of office.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Marfo expressed his commitment to the development of Manso and stressed the important role traditional authorities play in advancing development at the local level.

He appealed to traditional leaders to support the Assembly by making suitable lands available whenever land is required for the implementation of development projects within the district.

The DCE said stronger collaboration between the District Assembly and traditional authorities would be essential to identifying and addressing the development needs of communities in Amansie South.

The Omanhene, Nana Bi Kusi Appiah II, expressed gratitude for the visit and welcomed the DCE to the Traditional Council.

He encouraged Hon. Marfo to strengthen collaboration with the DCE of the neighbouring Amansie West District and traditional leaders to promote development across the two districts.

Nana Bi Kusi Appiah II particularly drew attention to the poor state of roads in the two districts and called for concerted efforts to address the challenge, noting that improved roads would enhance movement, trade and socio-economic development.

As part of the visit, Hon. Benjamin Marfo, on behalf of the Amansie South District Assembly, presented assorted items and an undisclosed amount of money to support the celebration of the Akwasidae festival.

The visit is expected to strengthen the relationship between the District Assembly and the Manso Nkwanta Traditional Council and deepen collaboration between local government and traditional authorities in pursuit of development.

The engagement further underscores the importance of traditional leadership and local government collaboration in promoting sustainable development and addressing key challenges facing communities in the Manso area.
