Concerned Volta Youth affirms its opposition to UHAS honoring President Akufo-Addo

Concerned Volta Youth has affirmed its opposition to the decision by the University of Health And Allied Sciences (UHAS) to confer an Honorary Doctorate Degree on President Nana Akufo-Addo.

Concerned Volta Youth in a statement dated 7th August, 2024 accepted full responsibility for the libation they poured and stated that they have no regret for their action.

The group expressed their utmost respect for traditional authorities and stakeholder institutions however indicated that their action (Pouring of Libation) was their way of demonstrating their disapproval.

“We wish to state that the libation pouring was part of our demonstration plans, duly expressed during the question and answer session of our press conference on the 23rd July, 2024”.

“We want to state that despite all, the special congregation to honor the president only yielded 5 laptops and 5 desktop computers from the president to the institution (UHAS)”.

The group reiterates their confidence in the power of youth leadership and community engagement to address challenges and promote development.
