Asuogyaman Assembly Commissions Small-Town Water System for Akwamufie

The Asuogyaman District Assembly has officially commissioned a small-town water system to provide residents of Akwamufie with improved access to clean and safe drinking water.

The project, funded by the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), forms part of efforts to improve water access and promote better health and socio-economic development in communities within the district.

The commissioning ceremony was held under the leadership of the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Godwin Bobobee, and was chaired by Nana Akonnor Bekai Ababio V, Osomanyawa and Senior Divisional Chief of Akwamu.

The ceremony brought together chiefs and queenmothers of the Akwamu Traditional Area, community leaders, Assembly members and residents of Akwamufie, who gathered to celebrate the completion of the project.

Among the distinguished guests was Mr. Kwame Asaase, Head of Grants at the District Assemblies Common Fund, as well as Mr. Russell Grainger of Reach Beyond, a New Zealand-based non-governmental organisation.

Speaking at the event, officials highlighted the importance of the water system in addressing the community’s water needs and improving the quality of life of residents.

The new facility is expected to reduce the difficulties residents face in accessing potable water while contributing to improved sanitation and the prevention of water-related diseases.

The project is also expected to support socio-economic activities in Akwamufie by providing residents with a more reliable source of potable water.

The commissioning represents another milestone in the Assembly’s efforts to provide essential infrastructure and improve living conditions for residents across the Asuogyaman District.

The Assembly expressed its appreciation to the District Assemblies Common Fund and other stakeholders whose support contributed to the successful completion of the project.
