The exercise, aimed at promoting environmental cleanliness and safeguarding public health, saw residents, Assembly staff, and key stakeholders coming together to rid communities of filth and waste.
The Deputy Minister of Local Government and MP for La Dade-Kotopon Constituency, Mdam Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, reiterated that the revived initiative reflects the President’s commitment to safeguarding public health, enhancing the municipality’s beauty, and promoting national pride and tourism.
On his part, the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Alfredos Nii Anyetei, cautioned residents that those who fail to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings will soon face fines or prosecution under sanitation by-laws.
Activities during the exercise included sweeping of streets, desilting of gutters, weeding of open spaces, and refuse collection at designated points.
Despite a few logistical challenges and low participation in some areas, overall turnout was encouraging, especially with the support of Assembly Members, community leaders, DE Blessing Foundation, and local residents.
The exercise underscored LaDMA’s ongoing commitment to ensuring a clean and healthy environment.
The Assembly expressed appreciation to all participants and pledged to intensify public education, enforce sanitation laws, and sustain community involvement in future clean-up campaigns.
