Development can only occur in an atmosphere of peace, tolerance and a situation where crime levels are relatively low or not in existence at all. This allows community members, market women and other business organizations to go on with their daily activities to improve their lives thereby contributing positively to the development of the district and the country at large.

The security situation in district is relatively peaceful and stable, aside petty thefts and Menace of nomads. The district has in place an oversight security committee comprising of security agencies and chaired by the District Chief Executive. This oversight security committee collaborates effectively with the traditional council, opinion leaders and District Disaster Department in the prevention and management of security trigger issues.

The Asesewa Police District comprises of Upper Manya Krobo and part of Yilo Krobo Administrative districts. There six Police stations namely; Asesewa, Otrokper, Sekesua, Oterkpolu, Obawale and Akateng; which is yet to be made fully operational. Guided by its Mission, Asesewa police strives to deliver quality services in crime prevention, detection, apprehension, and prosecution of offenders for maximum protection, safe, secure and peaceful communities.

As a result, the District Police command has in place proactive policing strategies like intensified night and day patrols especially in the four market centres. The district has a total staff strength of 67 comprising 6 females and 61 males. An additional 20 personnel will be required to beef up the security situation in the district.
