The Physical State of Educational Facilities in School
At Pre-school and primary school levels about 35% of the 13 kindegartens and 116 primary schools in the district have temporary structures anging from small thatched huts to thatched dwarf mu building without shutters.
Many of these are in deplorable conditions e.g. Leaking roofs, potholes-ridden floors and dilapidated walls.
In solving the above problem, the Government in collaboration with the Akatsi District assembly have constructed a total of pavilions. Many of the pavilons are yet to be cladded by the beneficiary communities.
At Junior Secondary School level, about 80% have standard classroom blocks made of cement and roofed corrugated iron sheet.
Girl-Child Education
Girl Child Education is a major priority to the district assembly. In this vein, a desk has be created for a Girl-Child Education in the education directorate. As a result, female enrolments in most schools are steadily increasing with time.
