The event, held on May 5, 2026, at the Assembly Hall in Amasaman, brought together apprentices, master craftspersons, trainers, and government officials in a show of commitment to skills development and economic empowerment.
Addressing participants at the ceremony, the Municipal Chief Executive reaffirmed government’s dedication to supporting young people through free vocational training, certification, and the provision of working tools.
He stressed that no young person should be denied opportunities due to a lack of resources, emphasizing that skills training remains a key pathway to employment and self-reliance.
A major highlight of the programme was the distribution of industrial sewing machines to master craftspersons and hand sewing machines to apprentices to support their practical work and businesses.
The presentation of the equipment marked a significant transition from training to real economic opportunity, giving beneficiaries the means to start or expand their vocational careers.
Beneficiaries expressed excitement and gratitude for the support, describing the intervention as life-changing and a major source of motivation.
Officials noted that the programme forms part of broader efforts to tackle unemployment, promote entrepreneurship, and build a more productive youth population within the municipality.
The initiative is expected to strengthen local skills development and create sustainable livelihoods for young people across Amasaman and surrounding communities.
