Heavy construction equipment rolled into full operation on Day Three of the project, marking a critical phase in the ongoing infrastructure upgrade aimed at improving road safety, traffic flow, and the overall transport network within the constituency.

According to project engineers, the day's activities focused primarily on base stabilization and asphalt leveling following the completion of extensive earthworks and sub-base compaction undertaken during the initial stages of the rehabilitation exercise. The construction team commenced the laying of the binder course, a crucial structural layer designed to provide durability and withstand the heavy traffic volumes experienced at Hansonic Junction.

A key highlight of the day's activities was the commencement of full-scale paving operations along the eastern corridor, where asphalt pavers laid the first layer of hot-mix asphalt. Engineers explained that the high-temperature asphalt application is essential for creating a strong, water-resistant road surface capable of supporting long-term usage.

Construction crews also undertook meticulous roller compaction exercises to ensure the asphalt achieves the required density and smoothness, thereby reducing the risk of future road deterioration and rutting.

In addition, technical teams carried out adjustments to manhole covers and drainage systems to align them with the new road elevation, a move expected to enhance stormwater management and improve driving conditions upon completion of the project.

Despite the ongoing construction activities, traffic management teams and road marshals have maintained controlled traffic flow through strategic lane management and safety protocols aimed at minimizing inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians.

The ongoing rehabilitation project forms part of broader efforts to improve critical road infrastructure within the constituency and is expected to significantly enhance mobility, safety, and economic activities upon completion.

Residents and commuters have expressed optimism about the pace of work, describing the visible transformation at Hansonic Junction as a major boost to transportation infrastructure development in the area.
